Mo jami Mo Bagicha campaign

The District Administration Koraput has launched " Mo Jami Mo Bagicha" campaign under MGNREGA. Under this all the beneficiaries of Forest Right Act (2006) were given option to give consent for plantation on the land. The preparation was made well in advance at the time of collection of forms for farm pond under Mo Pokhari scheme. We have got overwhelming response and around 3500 beneficiaries have given consent for the plantation. so from 12th july the plantation will be starting and we shall be planting cashew, mango and other horticulture varieties on these lands. Along with the plantation we shall also take up the land development of these lands. The maintainance is inbuild in the scheme, BDOs will do the plantation and the same will be handed over to Soil conservation department for maintaiance for two years. This package of Distribution of Patta, land development and plantation shall ensure the secured income to tribals within the span of 3/4 years. The campaign is also open for non forest right land holder for which also we have received around 4000 applications

A very sincere step in the interest of the people of Koraput. Let each viewer promise to tell at least two persons/farmers about the initiative and the benefits beneath it.

Good to have this type of scheme for tribals. But are they getting such kindly of opportunity or some one else getting. Govt announcing so many scheme for different area. But in this corruption generation nobody is getting anything. So, we will have see whether the people are getting benefit from this type of scheme or not.

Its definitely a very good begining and if implemented properly the traditional forest dwellers will be benefited in variety of ways.

Also please highlight the following points

1. Total no of families / beneficiaries benefitted out of FRA.

2. Extent of land (total area in acre) alloted to the beneficiaries under FRA so far.

3. Success of any project depends on the participation of the community. By merely getting consent of the beneficiary can not ensure their participation. So what steps have been taken by the Administration to ensure this.

The Schme is good, but general public should know about the scheme and I think this needs awareness among the tribal people, so that they can be benefitted. If all the Govt. schemes are properly implemented and all are know about the schemes, I think problems will be solved.
